What’s In A Vision

Posted on

As I promised, we would discuss the power of our dreams and the hope we have in their fulfillment. Over the past couple of years I have learned that anyone who is daring enough to pursue a dream will have challenges along the road, but if you do not give up, they will come to pass.

First and foremost I would recommend you to take some time out to decide what it is you really want to pursue. I am talking about your final life purpose. Each of us is endowed with a unique dream pre-determined for us by the Almighty, and in order for you to figure out your life purpose it will take prayer and recognising which activities, when doing them, bring you much fulfillment and joy. Maybe you are a brilliant painter, you can persuade people really well to buy things or you could be a good teacher. Whatever it is, keep that in mind and complete the following exercise.

1.Sit at a quiet place for about half an hour with no distractions. Think about the things that you do effortlessly, and what kind of feeling you get when doing these activities.

2. Write these things down.

3. If you were to do anything in the world, that would make a difference perhaps to your community, family and general well-being, how would you use these gifts to make a change?

4. Now write your vision. The Word of God commands us to , “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it” Habakkuk 2:2.

After you have written it down, meditate on it for the next few days, envisioning yourself achieving this. Imagine how you will change lives, possibly your country’s economy or any other area related to the dream.

The word of God in the book of Habakkuk 2 goes on and state that ” The vision awaits an appointed time, but at the end it shall speaks and not lie, though it tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not tarry” . Just to add on what you said, I think its also important to know that we have to be patient and not think our dream will happen over night, even when its seems like things are not coming together we just need to keep pressing cause at an appointed time, the dream will surely come through and therefore we should never give up on what God confirmed in our heart, cause He never gives you a vision without a provision!
